Said to be good with children
The Black Russian Terrier is a fearless, powerful, and protective breed with a mind of his own. This is a very large and determined dog who will quickly take control if you are not an experienced handler. He will be devoted to his family and will instinctively and willingly guard his territory and his family from harm.
Because of his self-assured, strong personality and his large, powerful stature, it's best if he is schooled in obedience as a young pup. If trained properly, your Black Russian Terrier will make a wonderful companion.
This is a companion dog who thrives on human contact. He will not fair well in a kennel but will be well-behaved indoors and will desire to be by your side whether inside or outdoors.
